This move is an opportunity for the dancers to look slightly silly, but to have fun doing so. The leader
sets the follower in front of himself, and then the dancers travel—he forwards, she
backwards—across the floor performing a peculiar pecking motion with their heads. (This move is
particularly well suited to Louis Jordan's "Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens".)

1. M:BL W:BR1R Start from an closed position, with the leader's left hand holding the follower's right hand. The leader takes a step backward on his left foot, momentarily rocking his weight back onto that foot and pushing with his left hand to lead the follower's rock step. The follower takes a step backward on her right foot, turning slightly to her right, opening up the position.

2. M:RR W:RL1L The leader replaces his weight on his right foot. The follower replaces her weight on her left foot, turning slightly to her left.

3. M:TL W:SR4L The leader closes his left foot to his right foot, leading the follower with right hand to step in front of him, with a slight gap between them. The follower takes a step to the side on her right foot, continuing to turn another 180° to her left.

5. M:FR W:BL The leader takes a step forward on his right foot. The follower takes a step backward on her left foot. Both dancers make a pecking motion with their heads.
