Other Variations

This section includes moves that are common in social Lindy Hop, but which do not fit neatly into the classification of moves used elsewhere. Other sections have covered moves with an eight-beat rhythm (even-odd-even-odd) or a six-beat rhythm (even-odd-odd). The moves in this section typically use neither of these, often having a simple repetitive structure (even-even-… or odd-odd-…). A simple structure like this allows the move to be repeated any number of times. This can be useful in social dancing—either to allow the leader to sync up with the phrasing of the music, or just to give him more time to think of other moves to dance.
